LIM DESTACKING
The RapidDestack system, from HPT, uses a
linear-induction-motor (LIM) shuttle allowing the system to
operate at higher speeds than belt-, screw- and rack-type destackers.
HPT was the first systems integrator to introduce this technology
to North American automakers with several installations at Chrysler
stamping plants.
Shuttle-based destacking systems come in a variety of configurations to match floor-space, press speed, part mix and other variables. LIM shuttle relies on a carriage assembly that is driven by precisely controlled magnetic fields than can accelerate and decelerate the lifting head at extremely high rates while maintaining highly repeatable positioning tolerances. And the systems are inherently simple to care for as there are no moving parts on the shuttle or lifting head's drive train.
